I-225 & Colfax Avenue Reconstruction – Phase 1 & Phase 2

The reconstruction of I-225 & Colfax Avenue in Aurora, Colorado is a major reconstruction project that will improve this congested interchange. The combined cost for both construction phases is approximately $12.4M.
RJ Pagan & Associates was contracted by Merrick & Company (Phase 1) and PBS&J (Phase 2) to provide construction management services for equal opportunity, labor compliance and structures specific safety critical engineering management. Safety critical elements include overhead girder erection, overhead structure construction, removal of structures, temporary false work, and excavation and embankment adjacent to roadways. RJ Pagan also performed onsite observation of concrete paving, striping, site work operations to include drainage installation, and traffic signal construction.
SH 78 Emergency Bridge Replacement

The $1.9 million Bridge Replacement Project over the North Saint Charles River in Pueblo County Colorado was a result of a flash flood that washed away the original highway culvert.
RJ Pagan & Associates provided civil design to include geotechnical, hydraulic analysis, detour pavement, and structural engineering. RJ Pagan also performed safety critical engineering relating to the bridge structure construction for the project.

The National Bridge Inventory Standards (NBIS) requires all public bridges to be inspected at least every two years with the approval of the Federal Highway Administration with some of the bridges that meet specific Federal criteria may be inspected every four years. Colorado has approximately 4,850 of these Off-system bridges.
RJ Pagan & Associates is part of multi-faceted team that performs NBI & Pontis element inspection of bridges in the northern half of Colorado. The CDOT NPS is a non-project specific contract to perform these services as needed.
